Zhakathoom A solid metal/heavy album, sadly from a band that is no more.. The release features great songwriting that flaunts a certain moody/angsty nerve that I appreciate. The vocal is layered almost parallell to the music in a way that's almost a tiny bit offputting at first, but factoring in that angsty mood twist I've found I really like how it's come out; at times almost detatched from the rythm and flow of the music, making the layered cake that is Electric Red a proper treat for the listening ear

ohleollei Another band that's no longer together but I wish they were. Great metal stuff going on here Favorite track: Smiling Fool.

Michael F. Holy shit fellas; not sure why you broke up, but thank our lucky riffin' hearts that this recording didn't end up in some dank, dark basement shoebox. This is some top shelf stoneresque rock n roll with an Am Rep thump... Sounds incredible; meaty bass, thumpin drums and heavy riffage. Great find. Favorite track: Isolational.

about

This is the debut album of the now defunct Belfast band Electric Red... it was recorded in various stages throughout the summer & autumn of 2009 and released in August 2010 via Buzzviille Records.

Many of the songs had been in existence since the band's formation in 2006, and the album brought together the 3 tracks from the earlier "Ion" EP with 6 new compositions.

"In This Machine" was written, recorded, produced and put together by the band themselves in their own front room... While the album did have a limited distribution in mainland europe & the u.s through Buzzville Records, it is an entirely d.i.y. effort in term of finance, production and recording - by 4 guys with day jobs who shared a passion for the same kind of heavy rock music, and just wanted to put an album out - no bullshit, pretense or image - just music... stoner,
alternative, metal, even grunge... call it what you will.
